We will hold our senior picnic this year on Wednesday, June 14th from 11-2pm.  There will be fun, food and games!  Afterward we hope to have a bus available to take our seniors directly to commencement rehearsal.  Stay tuned for more info!

Students may purchase yearbooks for $40 from our yearbook advisor Ms. Geary.  Cash is needed for payment or please speak to Ms. Gigi if you need to pay digitally.  Yearbooks can be picked up at the Senior Picnic, June 14, 11am - 2pm (or please make special arrangments with Ms. Geary,





Plan to attend our commencement rehearsal from 4:00 - 5:30PM.  (Please arrive by 3:45pm.)  You'll learn where to meet, walk, when to stand, etc. We plan to have a bus available at 3pm from school, or you can meet at the graduation location, dock entrance, at the Petersen Events Center on Pitt Campus | 3719 Terrance St. 




Upep Milliones Commencement will be held Friday, June 16, 6 - 7PM at the Petersen Events Center on Pitt Campus | 3719 Terrance St.  Students should arrive at the dock entrance NO LATER THAN 5:30PM!  No tickets are necessary for this event; all are welcome.

You may purchase pictures from any time up to one year.  You will need your "Portrait ID" & "Access Code" from your proof that was handed out at school.  If you do not have it, call  1-800-736-4753 and they will provide codes or order for you.  If you need a cap/gown to take your own portraits, please contact Ms. Gigi 412-345-1015 




Senior Signing & Celebration Day will be held at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum this year on Wed., April 26th.  Stay tuned for times and transportation information.  

  • How do I order my cap and gown?

  • How do I get my cap and gown?
    Caps and gowns will be distributed in June at the Senior Cookout. Stay tuned for an official date.
  • Can I decorate my cap?
    Yes. Decorations, language, or pictures must be appropriate for general audiences. Decorations and should not exceed 1 inch below or above the cap brim. All decorated caps must be approved by administration by Wednesday, June 9th. Please submit to Ms. Gigi through Teams, text 412-345-1015, or email gdeming1@pghschools.
  • Can I decorate my gown?
    No. We do allow personalization of caps to share your unique personality, but due to the formal nature of the event, we ask that the gowns remain undecorated.
  • I need a larger cap.  Where do I get that?
    Additional extra large caps were ordered. Please contact Ms. Gigi through Teams, text 412-345-1015, or if you need a larger size and she will arrange a pickup time.
  • I need a different gown size, help!"

  • When is commencement?
    Friday, June 16, 6pm at the Petersen Events Center, 3719 Terrace St, Pittsburgh, PA 15261.
  • Where is commencement?
    Petersen Events Center, 3719 Terrace St, Pittsburgh, PA 15261 on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
  • How early should I arrive?
    Graduates should arrive at 5:15pm (no later than 5:30pm!) Entry will be granted to all guests with tickets 45 minutes before each school's scheduled graduation ceremony time. Guest arriving earlier than their scheduled time or without a ticket will not be granted access.
  • Where do I enter the Petersen Events Center?
    Graduates will enter at the loading dock (walk down Sutherland Drive). Guests must enter at the Concourse A Main entrance. The Concourse A entrance is located off Alequippa Street and is most easily accessible from the OC and Towerview Lots. This entrance is handicap accessible and guests can be dropped off on the corner of Alequippa and Sutherland Drive.
  • When is commencement practice/rehearsal?
    The REQUIRED rehearsal will be Wednesday, June 14, 4:00 - 5:30pm at the Petersen Events Center.
  • Do I have to attend rehearsal on Wednesday, June 14, 4-5:30pm?
    Yes! To be able to participate in the commencement ceremony, you must attend the rehearsal so you know what to do, where to walk, when, etc. If there is an emergency that prevents you from attending, you MUST contact Mr. Graf or Ms. Gigi (412-345-1015) to be able to walk.
  • How many people can come to commencement?
    As of now, there are no limits to attendees you can invite. Family and friends do not need tickets, they will simply need to go to the audience entrance at the Petersen Events Center.
  • How many tickets do I get for commencement?
    At this time tickets are not necessary to attend commencement. The event will be open to the public.
  • Do kids need a ticket?
    At this time, tickets are no longer required for entry.
  • As a 2023 graduate, can I bring my baby to commencement to sit with me?
    Babies under 2 years of age do not require a ticket to attend the in-person commencement. During the ceremony, babies will need to sit with your guests in attendance. Due to safety issues, children are not allowed on stage or in the senior sitting area during the commencement ceremony.
  • Where can I or my guest park?
    Parking is available in the OC lot (3505 Allequippa Street Pittsburgh, PA 15213) with additional handicap parking nearby. Please note there is a fee for on campus parking. Directions and parking details are available online or call 412-624-4034.
  • Do I have to wear a mask to commencment?
    Not at this time. Seniors, family, and community will be informed should this policy change.
  • Is there a way for my family and friends to see me walk at graduation if they can't attend in person?
    Yes! We are excited to report we will be live streaming the event through the PPS website at, available for viewing during at home and off-location celebrations.
  • Do I have to wear anything special for commencement?
    Per PPS District policy: All Pittsburgh Public School students participating in the 2023 commencement ceremonies must adhere to the following regarding appropriate dress code: Skirt, dress, dress pants, collared dress shirt and tie, dress shoes (no tennis shoes, boots or flip-flops). Please contact Ms. Gigi or your school counselor if you need any assistance regarding the dress code.
  • Are there any announcements I can give my friends and family?
    Yes! We will have announcements available for pickup in June. You may also order personally designed announcements from our partner Herff Jones. Here is an example of an announcement from 2021.
  • How do I get my diploma?
    Diplomas will be distributed directly after the commencement ceremony. Details will be provided at the required commencement rehearsal. Any diplomas not picked up at commencement will be held at the Milliones office where students must arrange a time for pick up (after authorization from the school counselor).
  • Where do I turn in my computer so I can get my diploma?
    Computers are traditionally returned at the senior picnic or the final two class days for seniors. Please stay tuned and check with Ms. Gigi if you have continuing questions.
  • Can I still order pictures from picture day?

  • Do you need a picture of me in my cap and gown?
    Yes! If you took a picture with us on picture day, you are already covered. If you did NOT attend a picture day, please send a picture of you in your cap/gown to Ms. Geary by February for the yearbook.
  • What kind of photos should I send in for the yearbook and senior slideshow?
    Please send: Baby and/or kid pic Casual pic Cap/Gown pic (if you took on picture day, we already have it) Any you'd like to share with you and/or with friends! Send to gdeming1@pghschools or text 412-345-1015.
  • What is the last day for seniors?
    To be announced.
  • Will we get a senior t-shirt?
    This will be determined from feedback at the senior meetings. Please share your voice and opinion at the upcoming senior meetings every third Thursday, 12th period in the auditorium.
  • Are we doing senior quotes?
    Yep! Complete your senior legacy with a quote! It can be serious or funny, it just needs to be appropriate :). Be sure to get these to Ms. Geary before the end of February!
  • How do I order a class ring or letterman jacket?
    If you are interested in purchasing senior products (such as class rings or letterman jackets), please contact David Bollman, our Herff Jones representative at Visit to see what they have, where you can also do a 3D mock up of a class ring!
